Description
I made some Ketupat Pulut the other day, steamed instead of boiled...
Ketupat pulut is a traditional Malay dish, prepared by the Malays usually during the festive season of Aidilfitri and fasting month of Ramadhan. Ketupat pulut (boiled sticky rice cake + coconut milk wrapped in young palas leaf) is best eaten with rendang ayam or daging (special malay chicken or beaf curry)... here i added some corn to the pulut before steaming them, they're extra yummy this way mmm-mmmm
There are 2 ways of wrapping the ketupat pulut, here i made the 'female' wrap version instead of the more popular 'male' wrap version, it doesn't matter as long as i steam them instead of boiling them in water. The 2 versions actually look almost similar, but the male version is more 'water-proof' compared to the female version, so if you have no other choice but to boil the ketupat pulut, you have to fold the palas leaf casing the male version way
